In the Philippines, the public utility jeep fare costs Php 7.50 for the first four kilometers and Php 1.25 for the succeeding kilometer while public utility buses fare costs Php 8.00 for the first five kilometers and Php 1.75 for every succeeding kilometer. The flag-down rate for taxi is Php 30. Fare increases as oil price increases, as of now diesel costs Php 32 per liter.

i believe we're in the same country. but in my city, public utility jeepney fare is just 7.00 for the first kilometer and same amount for the additional kilometer. but as for me, im a student so i acquire a student fare, 5.60 and P1 for another kilometer.
well the ever increasing fare, so now im learning to walk if i can walk it.

For me, taking a taxi to my college cost around 1.5 USD. Not quite cheap but is still affordable for me.
