Yes, thats what I am asking. Do you really belive in online friends? Because, you don't see them physically, don't know their real identity. Sometimes they and dupe you and maybe sometimes they will help you. Can it be really compared with offline relationship?

It's hard to say. You can never tell is someone is being honest with you about themselves or not. In offline relationships you will know the person a lot better.

Oh dear :( I have just lost [as in broke up, moved on] a good online friend and I am still grieving for the friendship. It has happened to me twice, something happens and they walk away and never talk to you again. Its horrible. I have lost too many none virtual friends as well. Naturally I am very choosy about friends, virtual or none virtual, because when they abandon me I just, well it takes me forever to get over it. I have come to the conclusion it is safer to be friendless, than have friends abandon me with out a proper explanation.

I absolutely agree with u and i really dont believe in online friendship nor in phone friendship. U r right that this type of friendship does not have any identity and we may get indulged in anything very badly.
