Do you have curtains at your home?

I want to buy curtains to my home. I have a similar discussion about curtains, and one of my friend said that the vertical blinder are more modern than the curtains, and those are cool. So , now I feel a little embarrased. I do not know what kind of blinder is cool. Or how should I decide. I think the curtains are more friendly, than the blinder. In the office we have curtains too, but just because it is a poor company :)
