why do indian call centres employ indians who cannot understand or speak english?
i am tired of the ringing up and saying something like 'illo my nam is (not their real name so you cannot trace them) ow r yoo todai i em gifffing yoo a fun nd it wull not cust yoo onythin'
when i ask to speak to someone else they say 'yes tank yoo, now r yoo unterestid un' hey do you understand english you turban headed freak ' oh yes tank yoo, it cust yoo nuthing ' (except $2500 over the next 18-24 months)
if they could speak english it would not be as bad
do indians realy think they can sell somebody something when they cannot make themselves understood or even listen to who they rang?
i am about to buy a whistle or feedback loop especialy for these indian call centres to see how they like being annoyed and deafened but stupid noises

No, I find the Indian culture to be extremely polite and competent. It does not matter to me what someones accent is, or how good their english is, as long as they are polite and helpful. Which is more than I can say for the original poster by the way!
Furthermore, I am lucky enough never to have had to work in a call centre. (HORRIBLE job!) The reason that most call centre companies move to India is because of the low wages and the ability to exploit desperate people. Why would I resent talking to someone in this unfortunate situation?
