If you get fired, you'll have a discharge on your employment record. Even if you don't put it on future job applications, employers have ways of finding out and discharging you for lying. I don't know how it is everywhere, but in Iowa you have to be discharged for something that is attributable to the employer instead of you in order to collect unemployment.
