Do you ever stop and help people who are stranded on the side of the road? We used to alot, before we had kids, but now we don't, because we would hate to put the kids at risk. But I never stopped by myself, being a woman, I think it is dangerous to stop. Maybe I am paranoid, but there really isn't much that I could do anyways, I know a little bit about cars, but not enough to help if it's broken, the most I could do is make a phone call for someone and most people have a cell phone. When I was a kid though, my dad would stop at almost any car, because he's a mechanic, I suppose he thought, that he had a gift, and it was God-given and it was his way of helping others and using the gift he'd been blessed with. What about you, do you stop to help people on the side of the road? Would you want someone to stop and help you?

We do not stop to assist people in broken down vehicles. Hubby has no mechanical skills and neither do I. We do not have a cell phone to offer them to call for assistance.
Even if they look "normal", I wouldn't stop. John Bundy looked normal.

We are from a small community so most vehicles are recognizable. In that case I do stop. I usually travel with at least a couple of my dogs because they like going for rides in the truck. I would stop then and ask if there was someone I could call.
A few years ago I did help a guy change his tire. I'm such a farm girl. He stayed on the other side of his car untill I was done because he was afraid of the dogs.

Yes, I grew up in a small town, where everyone knew everyone, and my parents vehicles were constantly breaking down, but people always came and helped. THat was 15-20 years ago, and things were alot safer, but I do believe people still stop and help around there, just because it's such a small town. Thanks for your response.

My husband did once. The kid looked really scary but ended up really nice. While my husband was helping him change his tire the police pulled up.
They were really rude to the kid because he looked different. My husband told them that he was no threat and really nice.
The cops left. My husband got his tired changed and the kid couldn't stop thanking him.
Nowadays I don't think we would stop. You can't be to careful these days.

Yes, I agree, it's sad, but true, you really can't trust people anymore. I guess the best thing you can do is call the police for them, and see if they will help. Thanks for the reply! (:
