well both are the most intresting series d world might hav encountered in recent past...!!but its even more intresting that many came to no abt it very recently thru d movies on them.......harry potter got the magical experience that any human soul can be waitin to experience.....on the other hand the latter got all the action involved with the furious battle sequences...so Is it the movies which ruled every1s mind or Is it d everlasting effect of the authors who carved it on books....????

I prefer Lord of the rings than Harry Potter because I like more the story and I red Tolkien's book. I think that Harry Potter is more simple to watch especially for children and it is better for younger because it isn't so dark as the Lord of the rings. However both are very good for the specials effect, for the actors and for the fantasy story. I rate for The Lord of the rings!

Lord of the Rings by far, in terms of the scope of the story, the look of the film and particularly the actors abilities.

I prefer the books to the movies. The books have so much more action. They're so much richer. The movies for both series are good, but they lose a lot when they're not on the big screen. As for choosing between the two, I'd have to go with Harry Potter. The Council of Elrond chapter in LOTR dragged for waaaaaay too long.

I'm fan of both LOrd of the rings as well as harry potter . It's really tough to decide which is better . But still i think J.k Rowling has indeed beaten Tolkien. She manages to create a whole imaginary world simply so real that readers fail to notice the difference. Every emotions, sequences that are experienced by characters are the best thing about Potter books being the simple genius behind the Magic world.

I much prefer The Lord of the Rings. I'm not a great Harry Potter fan though I have seen all the movies and read the first five books when I was younger. I haven't attempted Tolkien yet, from what I hear it is pretty difficult.

Considering the books first, both authors have successfully created a world filled with magic.Tolkien has gone the extra mile to create a new world and a new language...In the movies too, I felt lord of the rings more close to the book than Harry Potter. While watching Harry Potter after reading the book, i had the feeling tht something was missing in the movie

I prefer The Lord of the Rings far better than Harry Potter as I felt Harry was boring and not worth spending time.
The Lord of the Rings is a great movie with all the effects and a good story ...
