The last(?) book of the series will be out in July. I was watching "The Hour" and george mentioned it in passing. It popped up in other news. My question is "Is this news?" Most books do not get this kind of responce. My take on it is since so many people around the world are waiting for this book, is has become news. also in order to get any hits to their webspace or time on camera, they have to give it a mention.
It is news when someone is trying to get the Potter Series banned from schools and has forced the issue all the way to the Supreme Court down in the states. That is news because censorship affects everyone.

It is news, as so many people from around the world have been reading the series that started, I think, like 10 years ago. The movies have all been a big hit which in turn brought even more people to the book stores to read the series. I think that so long as it isn't takig away from other news worthy stories in your local area and around the world for that matter, that it is perfectly okay to mention the release date of this book. Good luck to you here at mylot.

The point I am making is in a media driven world, the release of the new book/last book(?) is more important that the censorship issue. We need to get our priorities straight.

A book release , especially one so far in the future, normally would not be news. The censorship issue is news, but it hardly gets mentioned. That was the point I am making.

Its a multi-million dollar franchise, and I bet there are hundreds of thousands of children who will be bugging their parents about from now until the 21st of July.
In addition, its big business news. Courier companies, postal services, and book stores are hiring extra staff for the release.

it is a News because millions around the globe are eagerly awiting the conclusion of the story. It is natural human curiosity. why do you want to know about a movie before seeing it?
some writers can create immortal characters. J.K.Rowling has created half a dozen. Secondly we are in an age of publicity.Every thing becomes a news a models bra slipped and it became world news Wasit worth? When it comes to worthiness of a news it depends on the group for which the item is important.

Just because a large number of people want to know about this book, makes it news, but my point was that the person trying to get the books banned is real news and should get more attention. IT IS NOT!
