EUTHANASIA, what is your opinion ?

I ask because one of my best friends was with me a few days ago to announce he has got terminal cancer. We talked about it and he said that he would try to live as long as possible in a comfortable way. But yet, he also signed off a paper stating to his doctors that whever he falls into a coma, or when the pain starts to be unbearable they should "put him to sleep". In our country that is possible since a few years, and to him that is great, because he would absolutely not want to end in agony. We agreed on his decision, and he is more peaceful now, knowing that he will never undergo unbearable pain ore become a livind wreck. What's your opinion ? How is this problem solved in your country ?
