White lies and true lies

What was the biggest lie you've ever told anyone? I'm getting worried because I've found myself spinning a web of little white lies just so my life will be easier. What is the difference bet. white lies and true lies? For me, it has become somehow related. I don't lie habitually but in this instance, it has became a necessity. I somehow modify the truth to make it seem like a lie or get a little lie and somehow make it seem true.
