How should companies deal with racism

I heard on the news the other day that a company that sells mats got a letter from a soldier in Iraq asking him weither they would ship mats to Iraq , the guy didn't want them for free or anything he just wanted to know if he bought some mats would they ship them to him in Iraq. One employee took it upon himself to write back and say that no they did not ship to Iraq and did not support the war going on over there and that if the conditions were so bad over there he should just come back to the US and leave Iraq alone. I heard the guy got fired but I don't think that was enough. What would you have done if you owned that company? Our guys are having a hard enough time over there without having to deal with racists like this. Tell me how you would have dealt with the employee who took it upon himself to express his views as the views of the companies.

Wow, I think even if you dont support the war, support the troops for the sacrifices they are making. My hubby was a desert storm vet and my son in law in in artillery in the army and may head to iraq soon. Even if that company didnt agree with the policy on the war, why take it out on the troops? They are still human, still have a job to do and still need respect. While everyone is entitled to their opinion, I hope more will think before making a troop feel bad, as they need high morale and support right now, as they are in harms way!

I'm not sure if this guy was being racist or political. Maybe he was a pacifist and didn't approve of the war. I know there are a great many people out there who don't believe in the war, but I for one support the men and women over there who are risking their lives. It's not their fault our President needs a lesson on what's really important and what's not. I believe it's high time we brought our people home where they belong.
