Youth not voting???

In the Philippines, over half of the population is below age 30. Over 15 million Filipinos are youth of voting age. It is election period once again, and there are still many young people who did not register to vote. When asked, some of them gave the response that 1.) their votes won't count anyway since the returns always get manipulated and the influential person always wins; or 2.) among all the politicians, they don't see anyone worth voting for, really. I registered to vote when I was seventeen, because my 18th birthday fell between registration day and election day. I have always been taught that voting is important because there we select the people who are to lead us, and that my vote might make the difference between the right person winning or losing. Then I watched as flash floods ravaged parts of the country due to the typhoons last Christmas, and people suffered while the people in government bickered about charter change, and none of them seemed to even lift a hand to help the starving victims in Bicol and the Visayas. If it weren't for the private individuals organizing relief missions, nobody would have helped those people. What with that, and all the killings of politicians or connected to politicians escalating on the news, with all those shenanigans the politicians are up to nowadays, I feel like writing "abstain" on each and every line of my ballot come May!

As in hello? This is a serious discussion, if you have nothing to say, then please don't post irrelevant things because it only makes you look stupid, okay?
