Well, I have recovered fully and am back to my old self. And already annoyed! After spending the last few days in bed living off of broth, I'm in a particularly irritable mood.
I've already seen about ten discussions complaining that Mylot doesn't pay enough. And this makes me boggle, because.... it's free money. We're being paid for practically nothing. How can anyone possibly complain about that? I'm setting aside the fact that Mylot isn't an earning site, but a discussion forum with a little reward, and just focusing on this.
Haven't these people ever heard of earning what you make? You don't get big bucks for doing nothing. If you want money, you need to work for it. This is true everywhere in the world. This law applies to everything. If you want to earn money, you need to earn it. Five or ten dinky little posts and a discussion whining about how you aren't making ten dollars a day isn't earning. It's being a spoiled, lazy brat. You want lots of money? Go get a job.

Hahah, thank you! Yes, I'm back to my old self and ready to run my mouth - fingers? - as per usual. Venting is healthy, after all! It's no good to go around with bottled up grievances! :D

Very well said. I too look at this as a discussion forum, and I receive a little bit of money to give my opinion, make freinds and have a good time. So what is the problem, if your not happy with your pennies, go some place else. I personally am not complaing on1 red cent about it. I'm perfectly content. Good luck to you here at mylot!

It's a great discussion forum. I've made some wonderful friends, I've networked, I've gotten some great advice... that I make some money is just a nice little incentive.

I agree. For what we're doing, we're doing OK. MyLot is basically keeping me in coffee-money. If I want real money I'll have to sell a couple hundred more of my cookbooks. I didn't expect to make $100 a month when I got here.... I'm up to $25 after the first month, and that's OK. It IS money I would not have received otherwise.
Also, it's understood that the more quality to the discussion, the more it's worth. A small "better than nothing" reward is great motivation. Those who are in it "just for the money" are really going to get burned.
I'm also on Gather, and earning points. I LOVE Gather, and MyLot because they're FUN! They're great sites, and there are great people on them. I enjoy the deep quality to your discussions. They're os much more than just short quick questions. It's something to do.

I agree they shouldn't be complaining. Now if Mylot wanted to pay us more I wouldn't mind but I'm just glad to have the money coming in. I get to do something I like and actually earn something, not many things give you that. I do agree with you though ot post on here that they aren't paying enough or what have you is a bit silly. Do they really think mylot will suddenly go "of course we should pay more?" I don't think so. Give over it people, enjoy being here, enjoying earning a bit of money for it. Don't like it there are other places to go bug people at :)
Glad to hear you are feeling better. I know there are some very nasty bugs going around, I have one as well so far though been managing to keep it at bay.

Exactly. If Mylot does increase payment - like it just did - I'm not going to complain! But the fact that these people think they can actually change Mylot's payment structure.... ah well.

I am with you on this. I post on forums all over the place for free - jsut for the friendships I make. I would post on Mylot for the same reasons - for the learning, for the connection, to fill a lonely hour ... being paid is a bonus. I would never complain about being paid for something I would be doing anyways. I think that the people who complain just misunderstand. Mylot has NEVER advertized itself as a big money earner, so why do people excpet it?

Bang ON! You are right, what the hell do these people want, i am on here to be part of the mylot community, and yee ha, we get paid for it too. I enjoy myself on mylot (and on the net) it's a passtime not a career, i dont expect to be paid a fortune for doing this, in fact i really didn't expect to get paid for doing this, i was doing it for free on other sites before i joined mylot, i don't care if my earnings drop or rise i'm on here to enjoy myself, and i am, the fact that i am getting money for it is great, but i am not greedy or i could post to every conversation on here all day & night, anyway it's not said enough THANK YOU MYLOT.

See, that's exactly it. This is a great place for us forum rats. Those of us who spend our free time chatting on forums anyway. And with the broad range of topics, it lets us do all our forum chatting in one place. The money is just a nice little bonus.

I've seen some discussions like that too. Yes, I lovew to earn money on hear like most of us do, but I'm not really depending on it. I'm having more fun than anything reading.

I agree 100%.. I'm about sick of the discussions- how can I make more? I'm not making enough- I made $3.00 yesterday and only $1.50 today- Geessshhh- give me a break-
I'm on here to read what others are saying- I'm lucky enough that I can pop on a couple times a day while I'm at my REAL job--- Making the bucks! This is just extra-- I'm going to leave it in paypal until Christmas shopping time and see what I have- Its FREE money! Some people here annoy me so- Great post!

...does it really matter?
If you want to earn real money do something about it, like get a real job
Dont just sit and whine about it, get out there and make a difference

I agree with you! I can't imagine people complaining about this. I mean, I've spent so much time in my life posting in forums for free because it's something I enjoy that when I discovered I could get paid for it I thought "Bonus!"
Getting paid for doing practically nothing and still complaining? I work a lot harder than this at my real job, so I make more money there. It makes perfect sense to me that the world works in this way.

Yup, you are right, people are lazy and greedy. I smile and think well, I have made a few cents doing something I like to do.
I too get tired of the whining about it.
Can't wait until somebody wants to know if we get medical benefits with this!

Well I have to agree with you. I think it's cool that you can make ANY money off of Mylot. I'm here more to interact and meet people and have interesting dicussions. The money will just be icing on the cake!

It is funny in an irritating way. You will and have never seen me complain about it. Anyone with half a brain must realise that this site is not going to pay your rent or buy you a car.... I mean if one is snowed that much, how's come they haven't suffocated yet?
People always want something for nothing.... No they demand something for nothing and then are surprised and horrified when they do not get it. It is sad.

yeah! you rock! good to see this discussion. i definitely agree with this one, im so annoyed by thoe people who always complain that mylot cheats them and doesnt pay for what they ahve work for. its like with a little post they expecting to see a big earnings. and you are totally right the money we get from here is just a reward and that means communication and conversation is the main aim of mylot.

yes, it is ture that 'if you want money, you need to work for it. After finishing reading your discussion, I have a little change in my mind that mylot is not a earning site, there is no reason that members comlain about the rarnings here. If they want to make big money, they need to find a job in anoher place, not mylot.

go get "em ...lol its so funny to me too ,a dollar a day thats not money ...anyone who is here for the money must literaly be daft ... just like with people copy and pasting others answers geeze geta life for .03 cents lol ...what ever are they thinking ... I read a discussion a week or so ago that had given us a way to whiten out teeth and by golly it works ...so I have saved money by being here and joining in on the discussions... being able to save money on things makes more sense to me than trying to make a big buck here ...
Can you imagine just how much one of these people could make if they applied themselves in a real job , it takes more effort to complain than to just do the work ...but some people are afraid of a little work ... I am still alive and kicking and loving every minute of it ... :)
