Generic Brand..

Does anybody know if they make a generic brand of prevacid? My boyfriend has to take it every day and a one month's supply is $40 (that's after the insurance covers most of it). I was just wondering if there was a cheaper way to get the same result.

Prevacid is not available in generic at this time...another proton pump inhibitor called Prilosec is available both over the counter in brandname or by prescription under it's chemical name omeprazole...these are not chemically identical to Prevacid but are used for the same issues..A person could try the omeprazole and see if it works for them...if not you could go back to the Prevacid...
