I have experienced this, that some people will ansewr you in a very neglecting tone when you will say them that you like to spend time in the net. I was talking to a lady visting to my friend's home, when I told I like blogging and post on forums; she told in a very sercustic tone "ohh that blogging thing where you write your daily life, thats so bore." This is just an example. I met lots of people who think this online things are just useless things to do. Do you have any experience like this?

I think it's part of the american culture. Look at any comedy show on the TV and you'll see them making fun of people who spend long time online. They link this with being inward and socialy retarded which is totally prejudicial in my opinion. As for me, I'm not sure if I experienced the same experience. It was only my mum (she doesn't use computers) that used to think that I'm doing something stupid online.

I think some people are scared of the Internet, because they don't understand it. They never had a computer when they were young, so all they know is what they see on TV or in movies, and they think it is too clever for them, and people are always scared and thereore defensive, about things they do not understand.

And because of all that they want to show that they are smarter then you.

I have yet to run into that kind of thing. But they should not blast at you because you enjoy doing it. They dont realize that your efforts are helping people out especially on this site. Some people just dont understand

When I first started using the internet, not that many people were, around here. I used to chat on IRC quite often. People didn't understand this and told me it was boring and a waste of time. Now, most young people, the same ones that didn't get it, are online. They spend their days chatting on Messenger. I no longer use IRC or messengers. It got old ;) Now I tell someone I bought something online or found a good internet service of some kind. They look at me like I'm from Mars and call me a "geek". Give them a couple of years and they'll be shopping online too. It's a little sad that in my country people are so far behind the rest of the world in practically everything. They only try something out if it's popular and if all their friends are trying it. It's quite possible that the person who snubbed you isn't aware of what you can do online. Maybe they have never tried it. So they act like that. Of course, some people genuinely think it's a waste of time. But most people are quick to dismiss something simply because they have never experienced it or don't understand it.

I have run into this in cases where the individuals don't really know much about the internet and it scares them . They don't understand all what the internet is , so they feel that they should put it down .

It is completely depends. As per the person is concern, as per her or his attitude they behave like that, well I am also facing some short of peoples when I m chatting online. As well as posting in forums. Yes one point is there if you are completely new to someone for the first time some peoples are very rude tone. You have to adjust with them.

Well that was rude of her!!!! She probably has no clue how to blog or what fun it can be! And she probably has no clue what a forum is that is why she had to direct her comment to the blog. Don't listen to her. She is just clueless and most likely jealous because she would like to know what it is all about. LOL

Oh yes I have a lot of people who look at me when I say I'm earning online through myLot..like as though I'm doing some forbidden thing! They consider only going out and working as a proper job and think it is impossible to make money from home. Well, you can't explain it to them so we might as well ignore them!!

That would have really hurted you. But what normally i do is listen from 1 Ear & leave it from another. Don't think too much on what they say since some people can't change their mentality & time teaches them. We know that we are right & what we r doing is right, so don' think too much about what they said, etc. Only try to take positive things in life & neglect the negative energies.

I feel some people are old fashioned, and are reluctant to change. I bet she doesn't know much about computers or what fun blogging and posting in forums can be. I feel you shouldn't give any impotance to what she said as that hardly matters. As you and we fellow mylotians know what great fun posting and blogging can be especially if we like & enjoy it. Besides the growing popularity of discussion forums like mylot site also proves it. I feel blogging & posting is good hobby to have if you enjoy doing it. So keep at it and have fun.

Had to translate your questions, hope I respond properly. Some people just aren't into computers. Have heard all the bad things and have not seen for themselves. They may be the ones with a computer in their home and they only turn it on maybe one time a week if then. Some people have cell phones, others do not. Some people like meat, others do not. Just the way it seems to be fairly consistently.

I suppose truthfully I have never told anyone that I visit forums .. but that's probably more because the subject nevercomes up in conversation rather than me not wanting to tell anyone ... I rarely tell people much about my 'private' life so I don't suppose they think to ask just what it is I do on the Internet for so long each day heheh !!! Although most folks would guess I spend time searching out bargains, freebies and competitions ...

Yes I have experienced people giving negative comments to me as well I do not use blogs but I mean with a lot of other things in regards to the internet but they do get surprised with the amount that we can earn on the internet especially when I tell them it is free you do not have to pay any money out to earn this money.

Those are the type of people who would rather sit at home and do nothing. It depends from person to person. Some people are scared of the net thinking there is absolutely no security over net. Some because they are introvert and dont like sharing things and afraid to meet new people. even i have met some people like that but its their individual opinion.
