Do you read every response before posting to a discussion?

I recently read that MyLot wants the members to read every response to a discussion before posting in order to eliminate posts that say the same thing as someone else's.
I completely disagree with this, because on a lot of topics, some people have the same opinions about it. I don't think it's fair to tell me not to give my opinion just because someone else has the same opinion. Usually, when I post a discussion, I want everyones opinions...and I want to see how many people share the same opinion.
How would you know how many people share the same opinion if people won't post their opinion because they see that someone else already has.
Also, that would mean that most people's discussions would only get a few responses...and those of us who happen to fall upon an interesting discussion that has been seen many times won't get to post a response. Most discussions on the front page that people see first and access already have a lot of responses, so basically your time here would be a waste if you could only reply to discussions that someone else hadn't replied to with your same opinion.
How do ya'll feel about this 'rule'?

I read all of these responses before I commented on this one... but usually by the time I get to most discussion there is about 10 pages of comments, I am too lazy to read all of them. So basically I break the rules when it requires too much work on my part... I know I know... I am lazy... but hey that is me!

Haha yeah it's easy to do it on this one because I never get more than 10 responses to my discussions!! hahah

I'll admit that I don't read all of the responses, especially on long topics. I do, however, scan them, and if I see one that is similar to what I would have said, I respond to that comment with a few other details from "my" opinion on the subject.
