would you adopt a stray dog?

I would adopt a stray dog if it was friendly. We have had several dropped off in our neighborhood. I don't exactly keep the dog but I will fee it and water it as long as it stays around here. I can't see letting the poor things go without food and water. I can't believe people can be so cruel to the animal when there are other options they could have done for the dog. I love dogs.

I will not adopt stray animals yet since we can't afford additional pets yet. What I used to do is bring them to Humane Society or local shelter when I see animals without colars, they will know what examination or food to feed strayed animals. If I can afford it, I will take them and bring to the vet for examination.

I would first check with the authorities if anyone has reported a missing dog which resemble the one I'm gonna bring home. But during that time I'll just adopt them and give them a home and if by chance there's an owner I'll first interview them and check out why the dog has gone astray in the first place. Could it just be as simple as the dog got loose or was it animal abuse that caused the dog to run off. If I find out the owner is one of those animal haters I'll immediately call the police or animal welfare and report it to them. I won't give up the dog.

i would take in all the strays if i had room for them. i use to have a pit bull that was a stray and know i have a dog that i adopted from the pound.

I would and i have, of course i have done all i can to try and locate a owner first, left flyers and contacted the pound etc, but when no one has claimed the dog and i have fallen in love i couldnt resist giving it a home

As someone who used to work in an animal shelter, I would always bring the dog to a shelter. Who is to know if the dog has a microchip and the owner is currently missing their dog? Or if it is an obvious stray, they can have a vet look it over and see if it needs medication.
