The NFL Says NO to watching the Super Bowl in Church

The National Football League has threatened a copyright infringement lawsuit against a Baptist church in Indianapolis that wanted to show the Super Bowl on a big screen in their church. The league says that big screens in sports bars are okay because they show sports all the time.
Has the NFL gone nuts?

It's crazy, I know. But competition among Evangelical churches is brutal.

WTF??? Yes the NFL HAS gone nuts. What kind of copyright infringement is that? I hate the NFL. The teams are great, but the corperation is big and greedy. They copyright everything and won't allow anybody to show it or even talk about it on air without charging outragous fees. I only watch it for the football, and I think the NFL is just getting worse and worse with things like this. They also don't have good musical guests during the superbowl. Prince is the last person anybody would associate with football. They should have something like AC/DC playing up there.

I wonder if Prince will have a "wardrobe malfunction"? You're right about the NFL just being a greedy corporation. Most fans can't even afford tickets anymore.

maybe nfl as gone nuts,but i cant understand why would the people do that kind of thing what is big screen or small screen.

I read that the pastor saw it as a way to get people to the church who wouldn't normally come, so his intentions weren't all that great either.

Churches in our area do this sort of thing every year. They serve food, collect money or food for charity and try to attract people to church. The NFL should just shut the hell up and be proud so many people are watching the game.

I think it is wrong to show sports of any kind in gods house, a church is suppose to be a place of worship not a place to party and watch TV.
