i need help with my laptop

i need help with my laptop my son was on it and when he went to shut it down he hit something and dont remember and now it wont do any thing the start up screen comes on and then in the upper left hand corner is a pomputer icon and next to that is a lock icon and i dont what to do to get it work right again .

Yess just restore it...press F* when it starts and restore the system to a point from the calander everything will be alright.

i think its locked.. try restoring the stuff.. u must have restore cd or some buttonon ur laptop.. or try starting in Safe mode. and login as administrator..
