I think my biggest pet peeve while out shopping are those people who stand in the middle of the aisle and chat with someone. They can see you standing there but they don't make any effort to get out of your way. I don't mind people chatting because I know sometimes I see people I haven't seen in awhile but you can chat and still be considerate of other shoppers.

I'll agree with that one, but I find it is usually men who stand there, arms on hips, completely unaware that they are obstructing the passageway.

I almost had TWO people ram me with their carts because they were both walking down the ailses & talking to each other instead of watching out where they were going. Being somewhat of a martial artist, I spotted them heading right for me while I was trying to look for something specific on the shelf, & when they got close enough, I kicked the front of one cart into the other & scared the living daylights out of them. Then I apologied to them saying, "Oops - I just reacted." Well - the looks on their faces is very difficult to describe, & at the same time, satisfying. Oh - Talking about not-very-helpful salespeople, I really pulled a fast one there too. I had an item that had no price on it, I did not want to stand on the line just to get a price, & I happened to be near the entrance/exit where they had detectors. I sure got the help I needed by reaching the item out to the detector & setting off the alarm.

My biggest pet peeves when shopping are people who hog the aisles, parents who let their children scream and scream and do nothing about it, children running around knocking things over. Oh and the sales people that follow you and are very in your face - like they don't trust you. If I say, I'm just browsing - LEAVE ME ALONE! If I want something I'll ask.

I am offended by people who swear and use really offensive language, in a loud voice, while shopping. The language used by women and children is such that only the very foulest of men would have used twenty years ago. In fact, it is not so very many years ago that this was a criminal offence. What they choose to say in the privacy of their own homes is up to them, but surely they can use a little restraint in public, and in the presence of children. As a lady of the older generation I am offended by such talk.

I think rude people are my biggest issue when I'm out shopping. I hate people that get rude period. Sometimes you don't do anything and people get snippy with you and it really really bugs me. I have yet to really encounter any rude salespeople but I'm sure I will sometime.

I cannot stand it when people congregate in the store aisles and talk and will not move. I had to yell excuse me the other day so I could get down an aisle and they looked at me like I was the one that was wrong.

What I do not like when I shop are salespeople who follow you everywhere you go. Sure, they just want to assist you. But sometimes I get irritated. I want to look around first and see if there is anything I would like to buy. If I need assistance, I would call them. When I enter a shop with this kind of salespeople, instead of buying, I just move to another shop where the salespeople do not follow me like dogs.

Well there are a few things that really get to me when shopping... I absolutely cannot stand it when people stand there in the middle of the aisle and have a family reunion or a big discussion chatting away blocking everything, clogging the flow and in my way. I also can't stand it when the cashier is chatty with the people in front of me and I'm standing there waiting while they talk about the weather. Then there is the idiot in front of me that tell someone to go ahead of her, she doesn't mind, she's not in a hurry...well what about me behind you.. I would like to get the hell out. I don't want to wait any longer because she wants to flirt with the guy and let him go first...I hate shopping sometimes.

For me it's the people that feel the need to stop right in the middle of the mall and have a conversation. They clog everything up and then get irked when people try to pass them. There are tons of places to sit down and relax but they want to stand there and chit chat. Out of my way people, I have shopping to do! As far as rude salespeople, if I am treated poorly I let the manager know and then never go back to the store again. My money is green and my credit card is gold ... both of them will spend anywhere.

I cannot stand it when someone in front of you just stops and turns around without looking. This drives me crazy. I will not stop walking and run into them. They look at me like it is my fault but I do not care.

I really don't like it when salespeople at the store look at me from head to toe, i feel like they are sizing me up if i can afford their items or not. And i hate it when sales attendant tailed you like you are going to go shoplifting any second. I mean, i will call their attention if i need assistance or i have some queries. I just wanna look for awhile and decide what to buy by my self -- like i need some space to decide. I think its sort of rude for sale people to follow a customer's every moved as much as it is rude when a customer is calling their attention and they are unattentive.

There a few things that get on my nerves while shopping. These include rude or un-knowledgeable sales people. I also can't stand people that can't control their children, letting them scream, throw tantrums and act bratty.

What I hate are when shoppers have out their chilren in pushchairs and pay no attention to where they leave it blocking aisles and ramming it into the back of your ankles. I understand that it can be difficult to control a pushchair, speak with your child and shop all at the same time but if they just took a little more care and handed out a few more apologies then it would make shopping for everyone a little more pleasant. One other thing that annoyed me was being in a clothes sho[ with my mum and the music so loud that we couldn't here each other from a couple of feet away. Where normally you would just say "oh, do you think this is nice" I was having to tap her to get her attention and motion at her to look at what I was holding. I know I sound old but I'm not. I just think when you are hsopping there is no neeed to feel like your in a nightclub.

Probably what bothers me the most is people who let their little kids run wild, wreak havoc, and have tantrums every time they're out shopping. If kids can't behave, they shouldn't be brought along to such busy public areas. But really, it's usually the parents' fault for not teaching their kids how to behave in public. People who talk down to the salespeople also really tick me off- many times I've seen some lady or little old man address the salesgirl like she's stupid, when for all they know she could have a university degree and be working there to help pay for it. I've been in that situation, working in retail to pay the bills and thinking "I've got my BSc, why do I have to put up with these jerks treating me like a moron??" Also the pervy old men, I hate when they hit on me/other salesgirls or make sexist comments. In my opinion, everyone should have to do retail work for a couple months, then maybe they would understand all the crap we have to put up with and be a bit more respectful.

I would have to say that two of my biggest shopping pet peeves include having to search the whole store to find what you're looking for (in the really big stores) and a salesperson who just won't leave you alone. It's one thing to get asked if you need help with anything, but when you politely say no and they still ask or follow you around..that annoys me.

I hate pushy salespeople.. especially if I have already told them two or three times that I am just browsing. I was in an Aveda store and this woman salesperson just wouldn't leave me alone. I made it halfway to the door when she grabbed my arm and sprayed perfume (which was really stinky by the way) on me. Talk about nerve.
