Pyramids and the Bible

I have been an Egyptologist (read: avid fan of anything Egyptian - civilization, culture, pyramids, mummies, etc.) and as one who was brought up strictly within Christian standards through the Bible. I just wonder how come given that the Bible is the oldest (bestseller) book in the history of man, pyramids are not mentioned at all in any Biblical verse or text? I mean, it's supposed to be the most reliable record of all things historical at least from the Bible's stand point.
