Birthdays

The older I get the less my birthdays seem to mean to me. Is this the case for others? I turned 33 today. They made a big deal out of it where I work and I actually was pretty embarassed. My best friend bought me a really great gift, but while grateful and very happy with it, all I could think was that it was too much money. I just think when you reach a certain age maybe you should just stop celebrating. Or maybe just celebrate the big ones! Any thoughts?

I felt the same way, my last 36 I beg all my loved ones to please just treat it like any day. They didn't and what could I say, they love me. However, I could have just forgotten it. BTW HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! :-)

I agree, every year i get depressed cause i'm another year older, the last thing i want to do is celebrate that! its fun when your younger, but the older you get you dont want to be reminded of how old you are do you ? i'd rather not. just give me the cake, cut the presents and the singing, and take me out to dinner. that's it! that's all i want! not really any different then something any other day of the year. except the cake!
