How do you deal with somebody who thinks he or she knows everything?

I tend to be a sarcastic bi itch and am the one who actually knows the facts to call them liars. I have this memory(which I hate) that has me remembering stuff that isn't important, and can almost always call some blow hard on their "facts'. And I have often said to people like that, "Why yes, dear, I DO know everything!" i think the only thing you can do is find the facts that prove them wrong and just keep hammering them with it or be sarcastic and pretend you already knew the truth .

defense mechanism for those who suffered superiority complex. I dont mingle with losers, it is best to ignore them or run away from them

Thanks my friend. It's better to avoid them than to go down to their level... but sometimes, we need to place them where they really are... because kinda irritating, and it is but human nature to lift up his ego sometimes... sort of raising your self-esteem if need be, so that they would never dare step on you.

I just let them know everything, nod, and think of a way to do what I need to do by letting them still say/do what they feel they need to do. If they interfere with my work in a bad way though, I just politely let them know. But I am a tad patient, and don't have to interact with the same people all the time, so I know it might be a different situation for you!

Its better to let them do what they want to, cos they will never listen to what others have to say unless u say it in a way that sounds like it was their idea in the first place.I tried this once or twice with people i really care but with others, i never bother to.

Know what? I always do this...let them feel that they are the best. Well, I can always do this in my capacity as a superior anyway...for I know they wil never be able to go up without having to hold my position first. And what happened? They're giving out their best to gain my approval... heheh :)

They just tell me the truth...I don't know everything. I try not to be offended, but sometimes I am if they are not tactful. I hope this is the answer that you were looking for.

There are people who really carries a concept of everything, but there are others who seeems that they knows everything but actually they dont. Talking about me i would tell that i try to grasp some good things from the first catagory who really has genuine knowledge because they are the best co-workers worth others, and i simply avoid the other catagory who seems that they knows everything but actually not. And i think these persons adds fuel to ones confidence, and harms their co-workers to make success as they themselves are very non-co-operative.

Right...these loud people are nuisances so to speak. I prefer being with those who are silent, but can give more outputs.
