scattering of ashes

Can anybody help me....we intend to scatter our recently deceased dads ashes back home in northern ireland...do you need any special permission to take ashes over to n/ireland? and does the airline permit it? any help would be much appreciated..regards

But would you want to deal with explaining to security what is in the ashes? Never know what they will freak about. I'd be real nervous with such precious cargo.

i would just tell them the truth im not aware but is there any biological hazard to transporting ashes

Probably not. I was just concerned that they get real nervous about alot of things on a plane(ky-jelly??) that it would be better to ask and be up-front. Failing that they could be shipped on a cargo-only transport I imaging.

No...You can take them anywhere....Some people are crazy and carry their deseased loved ones ashes everywhere...Well I'm not 100% sure but I don't see a reason why it would be a problem!

The airline and N. Irish customs should be able to tell you that pretty easy. I can't imaging why not. Other than some anti-terror over-prevention
