Relax on a Sunday?

Do you really relax on a sunday? I am a software professional and work round the clock to reach my targets. I dont know, what day of the week it is, until my partner grumbles at me. Do we really have relaxed sundays as those enjoyed by our parents & grandparents?

A lucky person. But the fact is that these days, sundays or for that matter any week days are just become calendar bookmarks for weeks and months.

I do. Sunday is my day to laze around and do nothing. I sleep in, I stick something in the crock pot for dinner so it can simmer all day without me having to do anything to it. They I stretch out on the couch and watch TV with the dogs. Sunday is my relaxing day. I'd go nuts if I didn't have that.

I'm a writer, but I keep normal 9 to 5 hours. I set myself specific blocks of time to write, with a lunch break at noon and I let myself off at four to do the housework and cook dinner. I've become very, very good at managing my time.

at present times..i don't think relaxation on a Sunday is ideal anymore. Many people work on Sundays and rest on a weekday, just like me. But I think, it's a better case because I need not bear with the traffic and the crowded shopping malls when I have plans to watch a movie or go shopping.

I agree with u........life has become very stressful these days with the cut throat competition, ppl r slogging their @$$ out to reach the deadlines and meet their targets. Lifes become completely mechanical. I wish we could enjoy our lives as our forefathers did.

It's good to work round the clock and be able to reach your professional goals but just make sure not to burn out. I think that's the purpose of relaxing, letting your mind and body have a break from the stress of work.

well sunday for me atleast is a working day. I m an MBA student and we have lectures by visiting faculty on sundays. But even in general gone arr the days when you can sit and relax over a weekend. Its a hectic schedule for everyone on this planet, doesnt matter which day of week it is.

Not wanting to be a killjoy, but you sound like you’re overdoing it. Pressure jobs assist in blowing fuses. Targets can be scheduled. Some free time is essential for good time management. Don’t turn around in your late forties and wonder where the time went. Make some time for a rest, and anyway, being too focused in your sort of work can be the wrong approach.

Thanks for your advice. But by the way, its not me who schedules my targets, but my bosses. If they find that I have finished my work, they load me with the next module. So then what can i do in such a situation?

My father always told me, "Sunday is the day of rest" and of course that's because God rested on the 7th day.

But in the present times, I doubt whether he would be able to rest, the reason being the increasing sin on this earth. It really would be a tough time to keep a account of everybody. Please take this on a light note.
