How can I avoid logging in to MyLot? I'm an addict!

Ok here is my problem, I've been here on this site for a month now and there is never a day that I didn't try to open this website. I always log in not just 2hrs, 3hrs or four hours. In short, I am a "myLot addict".
It's bad for me because two weeks from my I will be presenting my Feasibility Study, (my final requirement to finish college) . I am not yet done with the revisions from my first proposal defense, then now I will have to work on my financial statement and socio-economic aspect. And then, the "floor plan" of my proposed business. How can I do that in a span of 10 days. I feel that I'm a very irresponsible student.
Everytime I turn on my PC, typing my Feasibility Study, I can't help but to log into the internet and go straight to MyLot. I admit that I am happy here but there are more things that I have to do, for my own sake.

I would look at it like this, which will pay you more for typing, a mylot response or your Feasibility Study? You have to get a hold of your priorities. Mylot and other's like this site will come and go, your shot at your education is really a one chance deal. It's hard, but you can do it.

I understand with you. I joined the site just some few days ago, and I begining to think I may end up beconing afreak of some sort for Mylot.
Maybe it is the prospect of getting payed or my trying to express myself in an unlimited way, or both that is driving me on.What do you think?

I think that they are going to have to have support groups for us. I was trying to read through all the posts before responding but y'all are starting to worry me.. lol.. this mylot could be a real habit... I like the idea that someone is actually going to pay me 2 cents for my 2 cents... lol.. but I think the real attraction is that there is always such good discussions started out there.. I'll never run out of things to say and I'm not the only one.. lol... some many interesting people with interesting points of view.. I'm afraid I'm missing some wonderful stuff when I'm not here..

I feel though like fellow mylotians including me you also like to enjoy being on mylot site and have fun posting & replying to discussions. It would be in your best interest to figure out your priorities and i feel you would agree that education comes first. So make little sacrifice for your brighter future and what's more you would then be able to tell your happy tales to all of us. besides if you finish you work or studies for the day then as an incentive you can allow yourself to have little fun on mylot or inform us about your progress. I would certainly be interested. best of luck for your future. c'mmon you can do it.

It is because in your mind you think that money is much moer important than your feasibility study. And if you can really think about it, which one is more important and weighing them in your heart, then I am sure that you won't be logging into this site before you completed you feasibility study.
Good luck

Me too!! That is exactly the problem that I am experiencing. I love this site, and I am hooked. LOL. It is taking time away from the things I need to get done, but I cant help myself. This site is very addicting. I admidt I love to come in and sit, read, and respond. My studies, similar to yours, are being neglected as well.
I think we need some help. LOL. Time to start applying some strict self disipline. Or at least try.
I cant help myslef, I enjoy myself too much in here. Me, I admidt my problem, and I say I am not ready to quit. LOL
Have a nice day. :)

I don't know how to break this addiction, either, but I will be wishing you well on getting your presentation together in time! I too doubt that there has been a day yet that I have spent less than 3-4 hours on Mylot since I've joined, and that has been only on days when I have been rushed for time, lol! There have been days where I did nothing but spend almost the whole day (well, my free time) here, except for doing my other paid work online. So I know all too well the power that the Mylot site can hold over a person. ^_~

I suffer the same affliction. It is a terrible disorder! Ha! Seriously, I have to give a piece of advice though, do try to concentrate on finishing your education. Have you thought of a reward sytem. Tell yourself that after you get 'X' amount done, you will get 1 hour of myLot time. You've got to do something to get your work done, yet we all deserve some time to relax!

It's nice to have a site like myLot to use and escape from your everyday life but if it's interfering with your daily duties, maybe you do need a break. You have to take into consideration what's more important to you, myLot or your studies? If you choose your study then you need to develop the self discipline to stop visitng myLot until you have completed your final assignment. MyLot is always going to be here, but your chance to graduate college on time comes only once.

Well as the old saying goes, the first step to solving a problem is admitting you have one! And now that you've done that..you can attempt to solve it. I wouldn't try to give it up cold turkey or anything, but try to start off slow by rationing your time on here, set an alarm if you need to and when it goes off, it's time to do some school work!

Its a mind thing. If you are bored, youll go here and lose track of time. I suggest you take out your internet until you're done with your Study
