Women in Combat: Rules and Reality?

According to U.S. rules, women are not supposed to be in combat positions. A bill in Congress would further limit the roles women can play in the armed forces. We look at female soldiers and the front lines. Should female soldiers be allowed in to combat? Is it a way of protecting them -- or hurting their chances for advancement?

The thing I think you're missing is that PTSD can happen to anyone. It doesn't matter what your gender is. I only hope the Pentagon is prepared to deal with all the extra counselors and doctors they are going to need to treat the women soldiers. I hope someone has thought about employing additional gynecologists, in case someone gets wounded in the female area, in I'm sure will happen now that women are allowed in combat. Somehow, I don't think the Pentagon is that forward thinking. In fact, I don't think they'll realize that's s necessary until a woman gets wounded in the reproductive area. Then they'll be stuck with stuck with something they're not really qualified to deal with. I think military doctors, especially field doctors , are under enough stress without adding that. This is not to say I don't think women should be allowed to participate in combat. Also there is a possibility they could torture a female solider in specific ways, as a talk show host mentioned In fact, I think women should be able to do the any job they are qualified for. I just hope that someone has planned for everything involved.
