I prefer the treadmil , I don't like to run outside and I don't trust people these days. If I could have a tv to watch or music then im good.

Yes exercise is key. It makes me feel so relaxed afterward.

Treadmill is better cos then no one will notice your flabby tummy or ugly muscles going up and down (LOL) but on the other hand if you are on the street, you can enjoy the environment.

We're too self concious! In honesty the only people that will look at you are other runners that are stuck in their car, envious of you regardless of size!

oh yeh that is true. i do look at runners and admiring their bods sometimes. and if i do see one that is overweight i would wanna shout out "keep going! good on you!" to encourage their efforts.

Scenary can be nice but it depends if the air is polluted too. Some don't like running in air conditioned gyms. Well a threadmill can go anywhere, not just in the gym! heh!

Streets for me. I was initially 'scared' when I first started going out because I'm not exactly in the best of shape, though I've only ever been on a treadmil during school days so it's too far back to think back and compare. I wouldn't pay for a treadmil when the road is mine in the morning! I've benefited from it immensely.

It doesn't make sense. Have they not seen people run? It seems like it is a sin to run and exercise! Geez!

I prefer running on the street because of the fresh air and having a change of scene.

This morning i woke up at 7am to go for a run. It was absolutely freezing and the cold air was burning the back of my throat. Also as the first person mentioned, road running is not good for your joints, what with the high impact, so I think I would prefer a treadmill. That being said, I have never used one so I cannot say for sure. It is nice in the summer to go running in the country side though.

I prefer tradmill as ai CAN WORK OUT in an air conditioned area. I can workout on all seasons. I do not have to inhale pollutants. Less impact on joints. You can do cardio-vascular workouts. You can increase or decrease the speed.Working out on an incline helps to pump blood faster and more calories are used.

Treadmill. The drivers around here aim for people who are out running.

I would prefer running on a treadmill because it is less stress on your joints. The streets seem like it would be harder on your knees.

however do u find it a tad bit boring since it is stationary? For me i like music so having a threadmill and music is cool. something that i cannot have on while running outside due to safety reasons

I prefer running on the treadmill. I don't know about you; but I tend to have low will power to complete a good run. The treadmill is an easy way to keep me going since the moving strip keeps things moving. I have a lot more trouble on concrete since there are no moving streets to keep my moving ;-)

Running on the streets since it's not a waste to do so. This is true when you're also running on errands or something.

I actually do both, but I do favor running on the streets. I like running on a treadmill because it allows me to keep track of how many miles I run and how many calories I burn, and it's usually pretty constant when I use a machine. On the other hand, although I can't count the calories, running on the streets gives me a chance to enjoy the scenery and take in the fresh air. The gym doesn't provide that.
