I networked the two PCs in my house using a CAT 5 cable. It plugs into a port that looks like an over-sized telephone jack on both computers. Then after connecting the two and turning them on, I had to make sure they were both logged in as administrator with the same password and then I needed to run the network wizard on both of them. I am assuming you have XP because that's what I worked with. After I ran the network wizard, I still had to set up the proxy to share the internet, for which I used AnalogX's proxyi program on the computer that was essentially the "host" of the internet service. You basically use that to set the IP you want the proxy to bind to on the host pc so no one else can try to steal your access. That's basically it...I know it sounds a bit complicated, but that's the way I know it...and it works for me. Of course the proxy must be launched on the host PC in order for the "guest" PC to access the net.
