First thing is that a person should marry a person who loves him or her and is always ready to stand by your side at the time of need. Even if you convince the person you love into marrying then sometime or other he will definately give this comment that he married you even irrespective of his parents choice, so better have a person who loves you instead of the person whom you love,as that always becomes the reason of pain.

You have to sit and talk to this person. Ask them if they really love you. Coz if they do, then it should not be difficult to oppose parents. But if they dont want to go against their parents' wish maybe they dont love you as much as you think thye do. And sometimes love alone is not enough, you should be with someone who can take a stand in thier life for what they believe in. If they cant do so, then you would be better off without such a person.

That is a tough one for sure. Are the parents basing this on cultural or religious reasons? Have they given any reasons at all. Sometimes it is difficult for a woman to make such a decision when her parents are so against it. They don't want to cause a split in their family. I also believe that when you truly love someone and there is really no reason for the family not to like you, then you should follow your heart. Hopefully the parents' love for their daughter will overcome whatever doubts they are having.
