I was diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis last year and have gone to the podiatrist and have done the exercises and have the preformed inserts in my shoes and have done the injections in the heels. It keeps coming back and is very painful. If I sit down for more than 10 minutes the symptoms flair up. Does anyone have any additional remedies or have any suggestions? Your help is so appreciated.

Dear Ka Kelley,
It sounds as though you are in the small number of cases that may need to progress to surgery. Have you been treated with Lithotripsy? This has limited effects in my experience, however also worth a try before fasciotomy.
A fasciotomy is a surgical procedure that will cut the plantar fascia, and release the tension. An orthotic (assuming that it was correctly designed) will change the mechanics of your foot and reduce the traction on the fascia. Not all plantar fasciitis complaints can be resolved this way. Some unfortunately require surgery.
Talk to your podiatrist. Orthotics are not magical cures. They will take a number of weeks to work also.
Hope this helps.

I agree that this is painful. I also have done all those things for mine. What is next? Good question. The Dr. I went to- not my #1 choice. No manners at all. If I find good info from another I will let u know.
