It's depressing when we start what we believe to be an interesting discussion, only to find there are no responses. It's happened to me several times, and I bet it's also happened to you. Most myLotians who have been posting for a while know there will sometimes be no reponses to some threads. I feel it's important, especially for new members, that we encourage them to start more discussions and not to get disheartened. One way we can do this is to check out this new category each time we log in, select a zero response thread and reply. What do you think? Will you follow my example?

Most definitely! I think that's a great idea! I wishe there was a way to search discussions by the number of posts too!

That's a good suggestion. I started a discussion a while ago saying a lot of the names that appear always seem to be the same. This wouldn't happen if it were by the number fo posts.

I do try to do that but a lot of the time I just can't relate to the discussion!

A lot of the questions are childish, I agree.

The first I do when I signed is to check with my friends new discussion and answer some of thier new or old discussion as long as I can really comment and I can really say something about it. Then after I finish answering some of my friends discussion I stick to the discussion with no replies so that some new members will encourage to post more discussion that can be of same interest with us. I really will follow your example my friend.

It's good to encourage new members. I like to reply to one or two zero responses, for those with minimum points, but sometimes, as others have pointed out, it's not easy to find a worthwile topic.

I try to do that once in a while, but I'm on dialup and I usually have to go through pages and pages of new discussions to find even one that's interesting enough to respond to. I do much better by picking topics I'm interested in. That way, I'm not paging through tons of link referrals, questions about the weather, etc., and I can still pick up on new discussions.

I can understand the problem with dialup. And I must admit sometimes I've scanned through up to eight pages before I find a suitable subject to reply to.
