Since I've seen so many discussions in Mylot regarding the existence of religions which is has similarity one to another that I believe they are from the same source. I just want to know your opinion about why God has sent so many Prophets and apostles, and the most is to the Jew.
That's it... Just the simple question to be dicussed.

I dont want to give you mere opinion...i want to share to you the truth...because in 1 Timothy 2:4, the Lord desires all men to be saved and come to the full knowledge of the truth...
Hebrews 1:1 says, "God, having spoken of old in many portions and in many ways to the fathers in the prophets" God has spoken! Praise Him! without His speaking, God is mysterious. But He has revealed Himself in His speaking. He is no longer mysterious. Now He is the revealed God.
In the Old Testament, God spoke to the people not once for all and in only one way but in many ways: in one portion to the Patriarchs in one way, in another portion through Moses in another way; in one portion through David in one way, in other portions through A NUMBER of prophets in several different ways.

I definitely agree with you explanation, phoebe. Men need to be saved for they have a tendency to be deviant and rebell.
We still could see the phenomena where men made their desire and want or ideology as their gods.
As I also still like so many of them.

I dont think all the prophets were sent by some god, lying in outer space far out of reach of his-her followers. I think all the prophets were spawned by none other than the real god, thats mother nature. just as we all were born.
Only thing is that prophets are people understood what is needed to be done to lead a meaningfull and peacefull life. They tried to get their message across through stories of miracles and the supernatural.
Unfortunately, prophets are the most misquoted, misunderstood and exploited human beings of this planet.

Thank you. I appreciate your view...
Yes ofcourse, the prophets are also human. Yet, they're very special man.
Since I am talking in the religious area which belief is on God, we believe that prophets sent to represent god to guide human race.

Before Christianity, God spoke through the prophets, but nowadays, God spoke thru His Son (Hebrews 1:1). The Lord Jesus Christ has now His testament - the New Testament, and so no prophets now are necessary. The last Prophet is the Lord Jesus Christ Himself.
Most if not all of the prophets are Israelites (Jews are Israelites, Mouses is not a Jew but a Levite), because the Israelites were the children of God chosen by God to be His special people. Mouses was the first to write the Word of God as he was commanded by God to do so. Mouses was born more than 20 generations from Adam and if God did not tell what happened beforehand, Mouses would not have known anything.

Hi Arsenia My love,
How are you today? It's nice to have you responding my thread.
There's a few thing i want to comment you response here.
#1. I appreciate your opinion no prophets are necessary now, because as a christian you believe that Jesus has a role as a corner stone. While in Islam the corner stone is mohammed, of course.
#2. I agree that Moses is the descendant of Levi, but I slightly disagree when you refer Jew as Israelites (means that only jews are Israelites).
I believe that you know what's the meaning of Israelites. But because this discussion is Public, i want to make it clear that Israelites means "the children of Israel".
And who Israel Is?
According to Genesis 32:28, the name Israel is an Alias for Jacob, as follow:
And the man said, 'And your name will no longer Jacob, but Israel because you have stuggled with God and with men and have overcome' (genesis 32:28)
Israelites is member of twelve tribes of Israel, descended from the twelve sons of Jacob who was renamed Israel by God. The name of the sons are...
Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Joseph and Benjamin.
In this case, Moses himself was Israelites. Afterall, he is the man who brought jews escape from slavery and go to promised land.
Nowadays we use the term Jews to all of descendant of Isack the son of Abraham. And Isack is the father of biblical Jacob.
#3. Let's discuss the actual question which is Why God sent so many prophets and apostles the earth? There must be some purposes...

I find your questions very interesting. I especially like what you say about religions being from the same source.
According to what I've read in the Bible, most religious beliefs orginate from the ancient city of Babylon. Some of them we still see today such as the idea of an immortal soul, the trinity, the use of images, ect... Thus, this explains the relation between many, many religions.
According to the Bible, God used faithful men and women to carry out his messages to his people (the Jews, in that time). The prophets were often used to help God's people turn away from their doing what was disapproved by him. Prophets, as mentioned in the Bible, were only used before Jesus had come on the earth. There is no mention of any prophets used by God after Jesus. During Jesus' ministry on earth, he did have followers or disciples and out of these he chose 12 apostles in which Jesus entrusted with special privileges.
Sorry if I got carried away. The Bible is so fascinating!! Such a historical and useful book.

Hmmm... this is interesting to find out by your opinion that most religious beliefs are originated from the ancient City of Babylon.
But, yet I couldn't see any connection with Judaism which is so many prophets and apostles descended to this nation.
As far as i know, Babylonia held Zoroaster as their belief system wiht Mithras as their god. This Fact serve a very distance similarity with Judaism (which has a same lineage with christian and Islam). After all, Jews and Babylonian (Ancient Iraqi) live in the same age and both have their own religion.
According to scientific and anthropologycal approach, religions are divided to two major division. They are Cultural religion and heavenly religion. Cultural religion usually based on philosophy thinking or ideology, while heavenly religion based on revelation descended to prophets and/or apostles.
One thing that i want you to know, I agree to say that Bible is so fascinating.

Hi Tambangmas, How are you today?
I just want to say in response to your question, that, This God and Satan, Heaven and Hell, Life and Afterlife, Prophets and Apostles, Angels and Hoors(Female version of angle in Islam)...etc...etc... All are fabricated stories from ancient leaders. They might have been good persons and thinking figures in the circle. They for sure they have been rebellions of what were happening at that time all around. So they decided to make some change in the society. To control mob and make them follow them they used the name of God as it might have been the easiest way to threaten common people in those days.
These prophets or messengers were just like msn messenger (for windows only ) for a specific group of people. No prophet ever been truly international at his time :)

Hi Tambangmas. How are you today?
I just want to say in response to your questions is that This God and Satan, Heaven and Hell, Life and Afterlife, Prophets and Apostles, Angels and Hoors (Female angel in Islam).....etc.... All are fabricated stories from ancient leaders. They might have been good persons and thinking figures of the society and rebellions of what were happening at that time. So they decided to make some change in the society and they wanted to make some wait in their commands so they took advantage of simple mindedness of general public and they claimed to be messenger 1.0 then 1.2 then 1.3 and so on :)
These prophets or messengers were just like Yahoo messenger i mean they were also just for some specific group of people not for all ..... I hope i have explained my view point on this question of yours :)
