When I was young, it meant going out on a date on Saturday night, and generally having fun! As you get oldet, it often just means having time to sleep and catch up! I definatey do a lot of resting and sleeping now, because the working week is so hectic! So - what do you usually do at weekends?

Weekends for me are not fun at all, because my housemate is home all weekend and spending too much together is not healthy! He rarely works at the weekend so the house is NOT peaceful, and there's always a crisis. I go to the gym on a Saturday so I can escape for a few hours. or some weekends I visit my parents. I also do most of the housework at the weekend. During the week he's away from 6am to 7pm which is bliss, so currently, I hate weekends.

I am sorry to hear that Wolfie. To share a house with someone, whose company you don't enjoy so much is bad. Weekends are my favourite time, but I guess that is just because I don't have to work - LOL!

Weekends used to be the time when I did try to read all my favourite books, when I was a student. I would go for a walk, spend some time with the poeple I love, but the major part of my weekend would be dedicated to books. But now the situation has changed. I have got a job that calls for some reading, and I have learnt to enjoy the reading I do for my work (which makes life very easy) and so, I have a different concept for weekends now. I have developed a new interest in photography, and that takes me outdoors. I go out to the lonely and and crowded places in my neighbourhoos, hunting for some good subjects of interest. I do not mind someone accompanying me, provided they stop at mid-sentence in a conversation, to find me fifteen yards behind focusing on some seemingly inane object. Well, I like to spend Sunday evenings watching a good (classic or new) movie on DVD. and the music is always on when I browse the net, before I go to sleep. On a special week-end, I would prefer a long-distance journey, if possible through train. Train journeys are capable of changing my outlooks. I meet new people, new incidents and experience new climates.

It is nice that you can now read for your work, as it means you are enjoying oneof your greatest hobbies as your job! I love train hjurneys too - they are indeed a good way of meeting and talking to people.

The weekend is just another day for me since im often working at the weekend and off different days of the week. Although the weekend has never been perticuarly important to me as ive never been a going out person, when i see my freinds i see my freinds, be it during the week or at the weekend. I guess i class my days off as my weekend and 80% i use the time to relax and do nothing. Doing nothing feels so great when your always doing something, be it work or other :)

For me when ever weekends come, it means happy hour time. On Saturday, i'll spend most of my day in the mall. Shopping, window shopping or just hang around with friends. Chit-chat and after that went for a movie. At night, with hang out with friends untill midnite or 2-3 am then went straight back home. On Sunday is my resting day. Iron all my clothes to be wear for work and finish up all the weekend office work. Well that what i normally do on weekend.

Weekend means spending with my family, since most part of the week; I am busy with work and did not spend enough time with my young kids. I am missing their growing up years.
On Saturday, I spend the afternoon sending my elder girl to enrichments class and will bring the family out for dinner, some time; we will go to their favorite fast food restaurant - Macdonald for them to enjoy. On Sunday, we will spend most of the time at home and do some reading and go for a walk in the park in the evening.

The weekend is just like a weekday for me now. I'm not in school anymore, and I'm not working at the moment, so they're just a couple more average days.

hi i am 24 - and still my ideal weekend would be to sleep. i generally go on dates with my bf but i do avoid it when i can (yeah yeah.. lazy me!). i work hard all 6 days a week.. and it just strains me - one day off is a must and whether it is going out for a movie or do something relaxing - a break is a must !

My weekends mean time for me to catch up on my household chores. They are also time for me to relax and catch on on a few hours of well deserved sleep. They are my breathing space, where I can just pause and catch my breath, ready for the week ahead. Since we moved into our house, weekends have also become DIY days where we sort out the minor problems we have come across in our house. It sounds like we try to cram a lot into our weekend, but I really love weekends, they are relaxing and it's nice to potter around the house and get things done. We had an extra special weekend this weekend though, as we went out to the cinema and then for a meal, it was lovely to spend some quality time with my partner.

weekend to me is not saturday nor sunday, weekend could be any day of the week. it is because of my work, my schedule changes every month so weekend for me is a time to catch up with my family. my family and i go out and just go wherever we could spend time together, then we go home watch dvd and/or do house chores and laundry.

Up until recently my weekends mean to going crazy and parting like mad. thursday through to Monday I was steaming drunk, totally intoxicated and not eating very much -wink wink-
but recently all that has changed, i often try to find time with my friends because i have no time during the week to see them while desperately trying to get in a bit of studying and working as well. and quite often between a friday and saturday i can do 20+ hours so it is difficult. I'm actually just realising that now I plan the impossible for the weeekends. What has probably brought on the change is coming back from a gap year and losing contat with alot of friends, i went back to full time education after 7 years and moved back home with my mum after about 5 or 6 years.
Im definately not happy with the way things are just now,i feel like im getting pulled in too many different directions without enough rewards. But in May I finish college and will probably get my own place and a full time job and everything will change yet again.
