My son is 8 months old and he has conjuctivitus, otherwise known as pink eye...
The pharmacy won't give me anything for him as they say he is too young and I must take him to the doctor...doctor won't be open until Monday!!!
Can you give me any suggestions as to how I can help with the irritation...???

Well, since I do not know you, I have to assume the worst!
But if the pharmacist told you to go to the doctor, it's probably serious enough not to resort to home remedies. I'd take him to the hospital. Your child's health is worth more than any amount of time you'd have to wait out at the hospital. Or at least a local clinic, I don't know what kind of medical facilities you have in your country. But that's what I'd do.

Thanks...I know that my child's health is the most important!!!
But to be honest...you as a parent will know if it is that serious that they need to go to the hospital or not!!! And it isn't that bad at all!!!
And the pharmacist didn't know what to do and just told me to wait until monday...

I always but vaseline in my child's eye, sounds weird I know. When I was babysitting the kids got pink eye and my mom told me to do this. So I did and it really worked for us. When you put it in there won't be able to see clearly for a little bit but it does work itself around so it's not dry and itching. Good Luck!

I would have to say you will have to see a doctor because everyone else in the house can get it. It would have to be treated with something that a pharmacy cant give you.
