I am always been perplexed by a thought which infact has almost had persecuted me. The thought is something like this-"what would happen if EARTH stops rotating or revolving rather???" Will we still be alive? Will we still take oxygen, as a source of air into our body, naturally? Or are we going to die as soon as it stops? I challenge people that there would not be any answer which would answer this fully. Wanna test your self guys?

Hmm, I'm not sure, I'm not a scientist. Animals would probably be confused, day/night cycles and tides would be disrupted. Something funky about the magnetic poles could take place, maybe seismic/volcanic activity would be affected. Life would be disrupted in many ways. Possibly, only part of the globe would be exposed to the sun's effects. Maybe the moon would spin off and hit Alaska (why Alaska? I don't know). But why did the Earth stop rotating in the first place? I mean, for that to happen, bigger things would have to be going on in the universe/solar system, so there'd be other factors involved. Now YOU explain why the Earth should stop rotating! :P

Well the earth cant stop rotating or revolving for no reason! The earth revolves because of the gravitational pull of sun. It cant stand still without moving. If it stops revolving it would just bump into the sun if there is no other huge extra terrestrial body around, But in case some external force such as a blackhole does put a substantial amoount of gravitational force on earth then the earth would tend to move in that direction, eventually in a spiral motion.

ohkey.... if the world stops rotating or revolving, i do not think we all are going to die immediately. it would definitely take time for all the huge volume of oxygen to get absorbed by billions of people. it would take time for us to get exhausted by the water present on our planet. come one guys think practically. nothing in this universe get get diminished immediately. from my calculations it would take at least 2 to 3 days for all of us to die.
