Does respect come from fear?

its really a true thing that you always respect to those from whom you get afraid, specially your boss when you say you respect your boss very much it obviously indicate that you are very much afraid from your boss.. its a great that fear should be there to produce respect, and respecting a person means to become decent and not-artificial. any way you do share your thought and give some good replies please

No , I don't believe this to be true . You can have respect for people you have no fear of . I would have to say in my case , I don't have any respect for anyone that would make me scared of them . I believe respect comes from how you treat others and showing that you are there for them when they need you .
