My 97 Subaru Legacy GT 2.5L clicks somew where in the engine compartment instead of turning over. This can happen from 5 to 30 times before it eventually starts. i have had the starter checked and was told it was OK. One shop informed me it was an ignition module, but my research in purchasing one shows no one knows whart I am talking about. Help!

Your stater is bad or the solenoid get it fixed asap or you won't be starting it at all

buy a book for your car either Chilton or Haynes most auto parts have them they will help you trouble shoot and fix it

The problem with your car starting could be the alternator as I have had that problem in the past or it could be the battery or both. If the alternator is bad it will wear down the battery as well. I think it is one of those two things or both. I would have both of those things checked as well as possibly make sure you have the right amount of fluids in your car.

Found the problem to be the starter, but thanks for the additional info. Had evedrything checked and an oil change with a 52 point inspection done and now I know everything is good. Thanks for the info!
