Ilive in Pakistan and let me tell u briefly about the wild life of Pakistan.
The wide variety of landscapes and climates in Pakistan allows for a wide variety of wild animals and birds. In the south, there are crocodiles in the murky waters at the mouth of the Indus River whilst on the banks of the river, there are boars, deer, porcupines, and small rodents. In the sandy scrublands of central Pakistan, jackals, hyenas, wild cats, panthers, and leopards roam in search of food. In the north, some of the rarest animals in the world can be seen in the mountains and valleys. They include Marco Polo sheep and Urial sheep; Markhor and Ibex goats with long, curved horns; black and brown Himalayan bears; and the very rare Snow Leopard. The clear blue skies abound with hawks, falcons, and eagles.
Another rare species is the Indus River Dolphin, a blind cetacean which inhabits the area where the Punjab rivers meet the Indus. There are believed to be about 1,000 Indus Dolphins remaining and they are protected in two major sanctuaries.

Wow...This is one of the main reasons for my post to see how different our countries our with climate and temperature and of course the animals! Your animals are almost all wild and can be very dangerous and with ours here our biggest fear is getting to an accident hitting them on the road. I am glad that those rare Dolphins are in fact protected and i thank you so sooo sooooo much for sharing this with all of us. I mean crocodiles, jackals, hyenas, panthers, leopards and so many rare animal it is amazing to me and i am so glad that you shared this!!!

Although I live in town, we have had coyotes, foxes,(three kinds), possums, and raccoons and skunks (two kinds) in our yard. Oh, and turtles, squirrels, rabbits, owls, missouri kites, and other birds, too. In our county we have cougars, armadillos, bobcat, lynx, porcupines, and the ever present white tailed deer. I can walk about two blocks and see where the beaver are building a dam. Wild turkey and prairie dogs. We have a game preserve with bison and elk. Hubby says he has seen mink while driving from work. I could tell you some stories about our urban animals, where they have been seen in town. So far no bears in this part of Kansas. According to some of the books, some of these animals do not live in Kansas, but as far as I know, they do not read maps.*smile*

Northern Ohio has eagle, coyote, fox, turkey, hawks, occasional bear, deer, pheasant, crawdads now and then. Oh and plenty of rabbits. These are trapped for fur or can be eaten. Forgot our groundhogs or whistle pigs as the olden ones call them. It is really great to look our the window and spot one of these. Nature at its finest!!

I agree that Nature is such a beautiful thing if we just take enough time to appreciate it!! One of my Aunties always has Deers and Raccoons right outside her house. Even when i lived in Peace River i used to have Deer walk right through my front yard i thought it was awesome although i would think that it was a peeping tom from its shadow crossing my Livingroom window ... LOL!

But sometimes they escape! ;) There's one orangutan at the zoo that is a master escape artist and has been found three times in people's back yards. They'd had a hell of a time keeping her in her enclosure - even though the enclosure is as large as an orangutan's natural territory.
My uncle's on the President's Board for the San Diego Zoological Society. :D

the area I live in Oklahoma, USA does not have that much.
The area is too populated that it has driven the wild animals away from the areas.
We have a cougar in our nature park, along with the other live wildlife of raccoon, snakes, squirrels, owls, hawks, and such. But nothing like lion, tigers, or bears.
I have seen some wild turkey hanging around for the past year now though. LOL
I can't help but wonder if he is lost.

I'm in the high desert of Arizona. We have wild pigs, elk, antelope, raccoons, badgers, coyotes, gila monsters, and mountain lions. And of course lots of snakes. And the occasional deer, but there aren't too many of those this year. Big influx of mountain lions, though.

I live in NE Pennsylvania -- we have coyotes, black bear, beaver, weasels, groundhogs, deer, otter, wild turkey, boars, and the usually little furry critters that live in the woods.
We do not have your moose, grizzly or wolves. You live in a beautiful area!

I do not thing that i could leave here it has always been my home!! The Moose can be a pain in the butt though as they tend to lick the salt off of the road and have caused alot of fatal accidents. They are BIG and very stubborn when it comes to getting off of the road and extremely hard to see at night also!

In Malaysia we have biawak (monitor lizard),cipan (tapir), kancil(mousedeer) unfortunately the last two is vanishing fast with the forest going down to accomodate the expansion of human settlements. However, i saw a biawak yesterday swimming lazily upriver in a semi-polluted river in town. They seem to be able to survive in any condition.

there are a lot of exotic animals in our country, maybe this is due to our nice tropical weather. they say that we about about 165 species of mammals here where in 121 of these can only be found in our country. some of these are the tarsier, carabao (philippine water buffalo), pilandok or chevrotain, tamaraw, bearcat, seacow, calamian deer, and a lot more;D
