i've been seeing paypal in a Philippine bank website.
so i've tried signing up. to my disappointment it wont approve of my cyber eon account and have told me that the bank might have denied it. sigh.. tsk tsk.
another thing is that i have read in some news that you can now use paypal in the philippines but it only has a send only policy and doesn't have the receive payments feature. but one of my friends told me that you can now receive through paypal. However, my friend's not sure if he could withdraw it because he had used those funds to buy other stuffs on the net again. So now i'm more confused. Can we really use paypal? How? Is it only for sending and not for receiving? if we could receive it, can we withdraw it through our debit cards?

I have the same problem with my EON account. It says my credit card must denied by my bank.
I read from other forums that activation of EON account to be enrolled to PayPal would take two weeks from the day you activated it on unionbankph website.
It really pissed me off. I waited one week to get my EON card and then waited another a week to get in activated and registered online through their website and now this?
WTF!!!

i also had the same problem. paypal is widely used all over the world rather than e-gold and yet, paypal doesnt have our country philippines on theri list. sad to say, we can only rely on e-gold. but why not try it? let's give e-gold a chance. maybe it can improve itself!

That's right ainee, my friend FG told me that we can now receive money through paypal philippines. Apparently it started last September this year. He's been using Unionbank EON account linked to paypal. AFAIK,although, chikka and xoom also accepts paypal receivables from your account their charges are quite high as compared to Unionbank. If you like to find out more about the advantages and disadvantages you could follow this link: www.pinoymoneytalk.com,there are also many discussions there if you like to know about other investments applicable to us Filipinos. Actually, that's where I got this (mylot) site also.
Btw, hsbc credit cards are acceptable to link with paypal.
Update us if you already succeeded in getting your money. Post a discussion here. Merry Christmas to you.
