What do you guys do to get over someone? In my case, it takes a really really long time before i get over someone. A relationship that lasted for like 6 months took me almost 2 years before i have totally gotten over that person. I don't know, it's just really so hard for me. There's always this wishful thinking of us getting back together again. Are you guys also like that? Is it really that long? C'mon i need to hear your stories on this one!

It's really very hard to get over someone. It could take months or years. The key is first allow yourself ample time to grieve and then helping yourself by doing concrete action. Noone is going to do it for you. I think the best way to get over someone is total withdrawal from the person. No matter if he writes or calls, don't respond. Better yet, delete or block their emails (and email addresses from your addressbooks). Delete them from your cell phone's contact list. Tell your friends to help and support you by not talking about the person. The less you hear about him, the better. Keep doing this, no matter what. No matter how tempted you are to contact him or talk about him, DON'T. Before you know it, you'd be completely over him. It may take some time but you definitely will.

That's my weakness. I always respond to text messages and answer calls. I think it's better if you don't try to hard avoiding the person.

Of course, we're all different and so, to each his own. I guess it is much harder to withdraw if the person is your neighbor, or your classmate, or somebody you work with. Just try to remember why you are not together anymore and just have a lot of respect for yourself. If you can't do total withdrawal, distract yourself with friends -- spend a lot of time with them or develop cool hobbies. Focus on something worthwhile like volunteering, or some endeavor that will take your mind off things.

Its really hard to lose someone we love. It's like your whole life has been ruined and you think you cant carry on. You feel like you lose everything and you are just like a piece of paper that don't mind if whirled by the pool or sunk in the ocean. That's how hard is to be a heartbroken one. It's hard to cure the scars onto the heart. Well, for all of us guys, we must realize, that God is very confident in us that we can get over it, so why can't we? I mean, we must believe that there are other people overwhelming you who knows you're strong. In every challenge that we face, there is always a reward for it. We shoulda guts to fight for it and move on. It's like when we take our journey in life, when we cross the river, we may experience difficulties, but when after that, we have to let dry our tears and take another pace.

That's so enlightening. It's true that moving on is really hard and pacing is really of the essence.
