How come everyone is afraid to talk about God ?

Religion is like politics...People either get extremely defensive about their opinions or they can't be bothered with the topic less, if they tried...As far as religion, though, i think many ppl are also afraid of what they beleive or don't beleive, are afraid to discuss the topic with others, or feel the topic has just been "topic'd" out...I see valid arguments for many sides who do speak up and state their case. As far as it being a Discussion here on MyLot, it's probably been "topic'd" out...and i've only been a member of MyLot for a few days-

u wanted someone to discuss the topic/post reply/etc and now i see u havnt replied for both the people who have given suggestion... Anyway i trust in god and i am a believer...

I seem to see nothing but posts arguing about this or that religion or about God or Allah or whatever! They go on forever - hundreds of responses in some of them. Was beginning to think myLot was full of religious zealots. Surprised you have not had responses - it seems to be all some people on here want to talk about unfortunately.

I think that first response is the exact reason people avoid this topic. It is a hot button issue for people who want to harass, abuse, berate or belittle other peoples' beliefs. Many cannot discuss it rationally..instead they use it as a topic to cause dissention and arguments.

I am spiritual but not ritualistic. I believe in one god and believe that he is omnipresent. I don't believe in lucky charms. I eblieve prayers to god gives you strength and happiness.

Afraid of God? Never Why should anybody be afraid of God. You should be friendly with God. You should L0VE God. and God will be friendly and He will LOve you slao. You have to discuss everything with God for Him to know your Problems. you will begin to see the Path you have too take to solve your problems.When you Believe in HIm He will never let you down.
