what is the difference between the 11b, 11g etc in the wireless specs. thanks

wireless depends mainly on wireline only.
The core network will be wire lined and the upper networks will be IP based

802.11b and 802.11g are same in terms of frequency being used but differ each other in terms of maximum data rate and spread spectrunm techniques.Both ioperate in 2.4GHz frequency range,but 802.11b has a max output of 11Mbps and 802.11g has a maximum data rate of 54mbps.The spread spectrum technique used in 802.11b is DSSS(Direct Spread spectrum)where as 802.11g used OFDM(orthogonal frequency Division Multiplexing).802.11g is backwards compatible with 802.11b and 802.11.I too blive that 802.11b will become obsolete eventually,as it is the case with every technology.
