My partner and I went to the cinema today to watch Epic movie. Whilst we were sitting there waiting for the movie to start this questiong came to me. Why are cinema curtains and the decor always red? Every cinema I've been to here in Australia, has red curtains, red carpet, red seats. Tell me about the cinemas where you are.

Hi Missytia, well you are right I live in Sydney and the seats, the curtains and the decor are red also but I do not understand why they are red it has always been that way and I have been going to the cinemas for over 35 years.

I wonder if it's because red is supposed to be warm.

WEll im not sure if this is true but i was told that they are red because that is the colour our eyes are drawn to the most, So when you walk in to cinemas you see the seats and find one that your eyes are fixed on. Not sure how true it is though as the cinemas in rosebud are decked out in blue fittings, the one in mton was blue also. What was the film like? Amy good? I was wanting to take my hubby to gold class movies this weekend for a suprise for his bday which is next tues but the movie he wants to see isnt released yet. I guess ill have to keep thinking!

The movie wasn't that good, but it's good to get out once in a while without kids. Cinemas decked out in blue??? Might have to go and check out the Rosebud cinemas one day. Gold class is great. I love it.
