I 've been a member of varsity swimming team during high school and college days. right now im not active in any competition which i really missed. I was competing for almost 10 yrs, I gained recognitions from our school and im very proud of it.
Im planning to train my 1yr old daughter to swim and i hope someday she will become a top swimmer in my country.
what are the reasons why everyone needs to know how to swim?

For most people, especially those who are very overweight, swimming is even better than walking. Start by going to the pool twice a week for a gentle 15 minute swim. Gradually increase the length of your swim, and your work rate while in the water. Aim to build up to about 30 minutes a day, or 45 minutes twice a week.

wow julialaurene!. you are so good at swimming!. i have friends too who are just like you when it comes to swimming.. thats a very good plan for your child.. i am really a frustrated swimmer.. i get so envious at swimmers who are very very good in their peformance. i want to know how to swim properly and how to do it in different styles.
i think that swimming should be learned because it will help you in cases of emergency in the sea or beach or it may help you save someone else's life.. i think that learning swimming is good and i have yet to learn how to do it like swimmers do.. i just float around and move my legs and arms and i float for like 5 minutes then i lose my concentration and sink rapidly..
