What are your reasons for answering a discussion on MyLot?

I was just wondering what your reasons are for answering a discussion on MyLot. Is it because you find the topic interesting? Or do you answer just to increase your rating? Do you do it because that person happens to be on your list of friends?
I usually post my answers because I find the topic interesting or unique. I guess that's why I'm pretty choosy when it comes to posting my ideas. There are a lot of discussions here on MyLot that are really interesting but for some reason, no one bothers to post a reply. I've also seen discussions that really have no value (no offense meant) but are replied to by so many people. I wonder why... What are your reasons?

Oh my dear I can answer why so many people post to frivolous discussions--they have the mental capacity of a gnat. I can't pretend that I'm cerebral all the time, because I'm certainly not, but the things people like ourselves find "interesting" require a great deal of thought.
Now I will respond to the discussions of my friends first and foremost, or anything that A) sparks my ire, or B) piques my interest.

No can do, dear. Good friends are hard to come by, so there will be no Avada Kedavra from this dark wizard in your future.

I choose the discussions that I reply to for several reasons, the topics interest me, they are asking for advise, and some because they have meaningful value to me. I like to respond to discussions that I can give a quality response to and not say the same thing that 20 other people have already said. I choose these discussions first from my list of friends, new discussions, new users, and discussions with no responses. I feel that I have been pretty choosy in the discussions that I have replied to, I try to avoid any topics that I feel will be removed by mylot, for not following the guidelines. I wish you much luck here at my lot!

Thank you... I'll try to follow this. Actually, this is what I've been doing lately. People have such varied tastes. It's really hard trying to create a discussion that has sense and that people would reply to.

ummm.. Many . Yes the topics are intresting(thouh not all of them) The main reason is that by responsing a discussion we are either sharing our experiences, thoughts, feelings or helping others . And yes also due to the money myLot is offering.

I try to reply to as many of my friend's discussions as I can. Lately, doing that and answering people who reply to my own topics is what is taking up most of my time on the Mylot site, so I haven't really been picking out topics from the hot topics page like I used to. But pretty much, when I was doing that, I would just pick anything that I felt I had any kind of a reasonable answer for. I was trying to reply to nearly 100 discussions a day, and that became pretty difficult without replying to things that I might normally not have answered outside of this site. But I still only replied if I actually had thoughts on the subject, of course.

I am both. I am choosy when I answer on discussions, I tend to pick the most interesting topic I can find. The one that catches my attention, just like your discussion right now. I also try to answer discussions created by the ones on my friends list. I do this to help them have replies on their post and probably put it on the top of the discussion pages. I know there are alot of discussions here in mylot and you have said that there are some discussions that have no value but still manages to get alot of replies. Everybody is different and it is really hard to predict which of the discussions will get more replies and which wont.

Very true... I wish people would be more choosy as well. Sigh.

No particular reason, other than the topic caught my eye, like this one. I don't care about ratings, and I still care about earning from what myLot gives, but my main motivation is to give my own views about a topic that interests me. The operative word is "interesting".

Thanks for sharing. Yeah... it really has to pique my interest before I'd even bother replying. Am not after the ratings as well.. If I was, I'd be replying to every post here. Lol.

Answering your questions.
I only answers discussions when I find the topic interesting.
Some discussions of mine are without reply, I think it is normal, now that I am here for a little more time I like to browse trough my interests and my replies are 90% for discussions in mi interests.

Answering questions is a hobby for me. I log on to answers at yahoo and answer as many as i can during lulls at work which is not many. but it is enjoyable.
I am new here and i only respond if the topic is one that interests me, or catch my attention.
