Where do they dream up flavours?

Have you ever eaten a packet of crisps (or chips if you're American) and realise that it doesn't taste anything like the flavour stated on the packet?I think that the crisp companies make a new flavour by throwing a load of ingredients into a big pot then dipping their finger in, somebody then says 'er... tastes like chicken' and they slap a chicken label on it.
They seem to be able to invent their own flavour and convince the general public that their flavour is spot on by elaborating the names like balsamic vinegar and cracked sea salt.
Give us a break! its salt and vinegar!Next time you dip into a 'Cheese and onion' bag of crisps just think to yourself, 'Does this actually taste the same as real cheese and onion?'
I think you will find the answer is no. And for that reason I'm going to stick to the true to taste packets of crisps plain old 'ready salted' and 'salt and vinegar'

Salt N Vinegar were always my favorites, and I'm probably very wrong but at least there is a 50% chance it is actually salt and vinegar because they are both such a cheap ingredients. I never could go for the cheese n onion flavor. Just what is it we are eating anyway, coz by golly it could be anything and we'd stuff it in our mouths coz it tastes good.
But alas, no longer content to fear the flavoring issues of junk food - did you know there are trans fats in crispy chips. Of course most junk foods have trans fats.
Can we win?
What happened to ET? Did he go home?

The lamb and mint ones by Walkers taste like lamb and mint. Other than that I can't think of any flavours that taste like they should.

I don't think so. I don't eat chips unless I'm bored of other things we have in the house. Sometimes rather than chips, I prefer to eat cereal without meal. Corn chips is my favorite, if I have to choose between potatot and corn.
