I see it advertised everywhere on the net and am wondering if it is really a money saving idea to use. Some places still dont have access to high speed internet and that is what it takes to use it so it is not available alll over. You would not be able to call all of the people you normally do now. Give me your thoughts on it.......good and bad.

What is VoIP?
VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and is also alternatively known as Internet Telephony. VoIP allows you to make phone calls over your ISP (Internet Service Provider) connection, instead of your phone company, by sending voice (data) over the internet.
How does VoIP work?
Current telephone system relies on reliable but inefficient method for connecting calls called ‘Circuit’ Switching. When a call is made between two persons, a ‘circuit’ is established and the connection is maintained for the entire duration of the call with a dedicated wire connection between two persons. A long distance call costs high, because of the copper wire that connects all the way from one point to another.

it's actually good since it's chaper and it uses your highspeed internet connection to dial...i think it doesn't mean that the person you will be contacting has internet connection too because with this, you can dial any number at a cheaper rate
