In Malta primary and secondary school students usually have three months of summer holidays, from mid-June till the last week of September. Personally they are enough.
First of all, we all need summer holidays to have a break from the usual school routine, that is when one come from school he does his homework, study and have as such as a free hour, in which the student could do whatever he likes if the school exams aren't near.
Secondly, students need enough free time to make activities they desire, for example going to the beach and chatting with their friends, or maybe playing any musical instrument. Today's children have a lot of things to play with, but they haven't got enough time to play with them. These three months are sufficient. Always remember that all work and no play makes Jack an dull boy.
The most important thing is that students learn how to manage time correctly, because if they don't the summer holidays will seem too short as they couldn't manage all the activities that they wished to do. that is why certain students complain that the summer holidays are short.
