Below is my family's favorite recipe: Crocked Beef 2 lbs. stewing beef cubed (use frozen to get maximum time) 1 box (2 envelopes) dry onion soup mix 1 stick margarine Place ingredients in crockpot in order listed. Cover and cook on LOW for 8-10 hours, HIGH for 5-7 serve over cooked noodles, top with a dollop of sour cream if desired

CROCKPOT BANANA BREAD ===================== (Makes 4 to 6 servings) Ingredients: ------------ 1 3/4 cup flour 2 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt 1/3 cup shortening 2/3 cup sugar 2 eggs, well beaten 1 1/2 cups well mashed, overripe banana (2 or 3 bananas) 1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts (optional) Instructions: ------------- Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. With the electric beater on low, fluff the shortening in a small bowl, until soft and creamy. Add the sugar gradually. Beat in the eggs in a slow stream. With a fork, beat in 1/3 of the flour mixture, 1/2 the bananas another 1/3 of the flour mixture, the rest of the bananas then the last of the flour mixture. Fold in the walnuts (optional). Turn into a greased and floured baking unit or a 2 1/2 quart mold and cover. Place on a rack in the slow cooker. Cover the cooker, but prop the lid open with a toothpick or a twist of foil to let the excess steam excape. Cook on high for 4 to 6 hours. Cool on a rack for 10 minutes. Serve Warm.

I use following: Crockpot Bavaarian Pot Roast: 3 to 4 lbs pot roast (organic or free range if possible) 1 teaspoon vegetable oil 1 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon pepper 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger 3 whole cloves 4 medium apples -- cored and quartered 1 small onion -- sliced 1/2 cup apple juice or water 3 tablespoons flour (up to 4 tbs.) 3 tablespoons water (up to 4 tbs.) Serves 6 to 8 Wipe roast well and trim off excess fat. Lightly rub top of meat with oil. Dust with salt, pepper, and ginger. Insert cloves in roast. Place apples and onions in Crock Pot and top with roast (cut roast in half, if necessary, to fit easily). Pour in apple juice. Cover and cook on Low for 10 to 12 hours or on High for 5 to 6 hours. Remove roast and apples to warm platter. Turn Crock Pot to High setting. Make a smooth paste of the flour and water; stir into Crock Pot. Cover and cook until thickened.

Sounds great, but I would lose the margarine. My hips can't take the extra margarine! My favorite crock recipe is similar but I use a can of cream of mushroom soup instead of the butter. I add about 1/2 cup of water to the mix too, along with carrots and potatoes.

I use mine all the time too. It's so convenient to start it, then have a great dinner without doing much. I just discovered somehting new though. There is a new "Clubhouse" mix for BBq pork. I put the pork, and the sauce mix in the crock pot, and it turned out really, really good. Try it!

I've never seen anything like that!? I love how you can put simple ingredients in, cook all day, and come home to a complete dinner!

I like using my crock pot for chili. My family eats it. And they say they like it. My hubby even bought a crock pot cook book. I just haven't found a recipe I like better than the chili.

Coca-Cola Roast 1 beef roast (any kind -- doesn't matter what kind) 1 can (12 oz) coca-cola 1 regular-sized jar of chili sauce a bit of garlic powder I whisk the coke and the chili sauce together in a bowl along with garlic powder to taste, then dump it over the roast in my crockpot and cook it on low for 7-8 hours. Yummy!! Lowfat Chicken 8 oz fat free sour cream 2 cans fat free cream of mushroom soup 1 packet of Lipton's dry onion soup mix whatever kind of chicken pieces you want -- I usually use tenderloins Put the chicken in the crockpot, put everything else on top of it. Cook on low for about 8 hours, stirring once about halfway through if you can. I usually serve the chicken over noodles... but rice would work well too.
